California Blacktail Deer Hunting

Late Season G-1 Hunts in late October and early in November

We are constantly looking for the toughest of all deer hunts, the California Blacktail Deer. We have just added the 37,500-acre Dye Creek Preserve to our lineup. Dye Creek offers a late season G-1 hunt, typically opening in late October and running 9 days through the first weekend in November. We have a lodge there and offer three-day 1 on 1 hunts that include lodging, food, transportation and guiding once at the location. There are a few hunts offered for the unguided hunter as well with some of the units on the ranch using backcountry cabins for lodging.

Blacktail Deer Hunting in California

Hunting Ranches in CA for Fall Rut and Winter Migration Hunting Trips October through December

We also have ranches here in California that participate in the PLM (Private Lands Management) program where we do quite a few habitat projects in exchange for special late season hunts that incorporate the “Rut” and “migration”. These hunts are very limited and sometimes sell out a year or two in advance. There is no draw for these “special” tags as we exchange an ordinary over the counter tag for one of these prestigious tags! These hunts usually take place in late October and continue through the beginning part of December. These are one on one hunts and include food, lodging, transportation and guide service.

Free Range California Tule Elk Hunts

Affordable Hunting Packages and Prices on Private Ranches for Tule Elk Hunting Trips

Our Tule Elk hunts all take place on privately owned ranches and are free ranging hunts. They generally take place in July-September of each year. The landowner vouchers are very limited and hard to come by. These vouchers give you the ability to purchase the tag without going through any kind of draw system for most would take decades to draw! All the hunts include airport pickup, transportation, food, lodging and guide service. Prices range depending on the score of the animal. All scoring is Boone and Crockett, and pricing calculated for the gross score.

California Turkey Hunts

Guided Turkey Hunting Outfitters on Private Ranch Land in Central and Northern California

We offer guided hunts only. Our ranches have good numbers of turkey and offer a great day in the field trying to harvest one of these great and elusive game birds. Our guided hunts are for one day and include a Deli-Style lunch.

You must have a current California hunting license and your current upland bird stamp. These hunts fill up fast so book early. We do a few fall hunts but mostly do spring hunts for turkey. We prefer 1-2 hunters per day maximum on guided hunts but on occasion can accommodate more. We also offer a two-day hunt that includes food and lodging giving you the opportunity to harvest two toms!

Private Waterfowl Hunting Clubs

Hunt Ducks and Geese in California near Sacramento in the Sacramento Valley

In California we operate nine private clubs with season long blinds and offer limited guided opportunities for ducks and geese. Our clubs are located in Willows, Richvale, Biggs, Colusa and Los Banos. The majority of our properties are rice blinds with 200 acres of natural ponds in Colusa. Additionally we have a 360 acre natural club in Los Banos that was started in the early 1920’s. The rice properties in the Sacramento Valley are located near Sacramento Refuge, Howard Slough, Little Dry creek, Grey Lodge and Colusa Refuge. These full-season blinds afford good opportunities to harvest Mallard, Sprig, Teal, Widgeon, Gadwall and Shovelers as well as Snow and Speckle-belly geese. Our property in Los Banos boarders the east side of the Volta Refuge, and offers great prospect to harvest Mallard, Sprig, Widgeon, Teal (green wing & cinnamon), Widgeon, Gadwall and Shovelers. On high wind days there are chances to shoot a few Snows and Speckle-bellies.

The private properties offer blinds that can hold 2, 3, and 4 hunters. They all shoot 7 days a week except Los Banos where they shoot three days a week (Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday). The luxury of having your own blind is the freedom to set it up as you like and to come and go as you please. Most hunters wait until there is some inclement weather; the best hunting in the Sacramento Valley is when there is wind or fog.

Our limited guided hunts are available for three hunters for ducks and six-eight hunters for geese. We encourage booking after Thanksgiving to ensure prime hunting weather and allow the birds to migrate down from Canada. Our locations span across the valley and accommodations are within 20 minutes of the hunting grounds. Our lead waterfowl guide, Chris Hall, has over 20 years of field experience calling ducks and geese. He is extremely knowledgeable about our waterfowl properties and ensures that our clients have the best opportunity and experience in the field. Waterfowl season tends to start the third week of October and concludes the last Sunday in January. If interested in booking a hunt we recommend you schedule your dates a few months in advance.
