Each day of shooting at El Monte is a unique experience. Having exclusive access to over 20 ranches with thousands and thousands of acres and untold numbers of birds, the scene is different for shooters every time they set foot in the field.

High hills, woods and virgin low forest surround the sunflower, peanut, wheat, sorghum, and corn fields while plenty of irrigation pivots and first feed lots dot the area; it’s perfect for nesting, roosting and it produces plenty of feed – a bird shooter’s paradise. The variety of terrain and shooting opportunities is THE focus: decoyed pigeons, dove & pigeon flyways combined with high or low dove flyways- Each day happens in a different area within the province of San Luis.

El Monte’s bird hunting lodge is a beautifully restored Victorian home, built in 1900 by engineers of the early British Railroad; and is strategically located in a peaceful little village called, Yacanto between dove roosts and unbelievable dove flyways to the south and a main pigeon shooting area to the north.

The property features a relaxed and tastefully decorated English country home with six bedrooms, each with a private bathroom and furnished with either twin beds or King sized beds as required.

El Monte is also fantastic for non-shooters; our gracious staff will always be available to lend a hand. Enjoy horseback riding, visits to artisan shops and local restaurants, cooking classes, golf, touring sites of interest, and trekking.

Guests will enjoy wonderful views of the majestic gardens and relaxing on the sun porch with a cocktail after a great day of shooting.

For private flights there´s a new modern airport Valle del Conlara Airport in San Luis, right across the hunting fields and within minutes from lodge.

HOW TO GET TO EL MONTE

Non-stop flights are usually available from L.A., Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and Miami to arrive in Santiago, Chile with a short connecting flight to Cordoba, Argentina; and flights are also available direct to Ezeiza International (EZE) airport in Buenos Aires.

From Ezeiza, there will be a transfer to the National Airport (AEP) and a short flight to Cordoba or San Luis capital city.

Our staff will greet all guests at the airport in either Buenos Aires, Cordoba or San Luis, and drive you directly to the lodge.

There´s a new direct non-stop service by Aerolineas Argentinas connecting Miami and Cordoba. If you are interested just let us know since there could be a discounted fare through the Hunting and Conservationism Chamber of Argentina.

For greater convenience, you may also take brief charter flights directly to the International Airport at Valle Conlara in San Luis, which is very close to the lodge and right in front of some of the hunting fields. We will be happy to provide assistance and advice as necessary.
