Our hunting grounds consist of 10 million acres of North Maine Forests. This vast hunting area consisting of state and private land features abundant productive habitat. Our historic North Maine Woods hunting lodge provides a modern “glamping” experience. “Glamping” is going camping, but with glamour. It’s defined by some “as satisfying your craving for the outdoors and your penchant for a good meal, nice glass of wine, and a comfortable bed.”
We are one of the few moose guides that offer one on one calling for trophy bull moose. Calling during a moose hunt sounds easy, but there is much more to it than just calling. Call placement, wind direction, scent, sight, and sound, all factor into a successful hunt.
The sound of your heart beating as the trophy moose of a lifetime snaps branches on his way to the sound of the call is beyond exhilarating it’s heart stopping excitement. To make a moose hunt successful it also helps to have great tools. At OMM Outfitters we have what it takes for your once-in-a-lifetime moose hunt.
Turkey hunting is a specialty for Maine Guide and Outfitter, Nathan Theriault. His Southern Maine hunts are located on various 250 acres+ lots of private land, within that are 100 acres of agricultural fields, big timbered areas and railroad tracks. The private land is covered with beautiful green grass, and is a great place to have a great turkey hunt. Our guides will do what it takes for the hunter to be successful, including abundant pre-season scouting, being in the right place at the right time, knowing how to call and when to call, having the right set-up, prayer, and patience.
Turkeys are very tough birds and withstand weather extremes. Bow or shotgun hunting for turkeys is great fun. It is challenging and exhilarating for people of all ages. These birds are generally brought in by using decoys and calling with the occasional spot and stalk hunt. Hunting is becoming more challenging as the sport matures and birds become educated. Hunts in other states include the exclusive use of private land.
For hunters looking to bag a gobbler in every state in New England, we also have turkey hunts in New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Hunts in all six states in the Northeast states can be accomplished in 10 days or less.
Northern Maine offers some of best habitat for grouse and woodcock hunts anywhere since birds face less pressure than even in Southern Maine. Expect 10 to 25 flushes per day depending on weather. Enjoy the fall colors, the sounds of falling leaves, and the fresh scent of the fir and balsam as you stroll along gravel roads hunting ruffed grouse and woodcock. Well trained pointers and retrievers help ensure success and provide hours of entertainment while upland bird hunting.
Back at camp, be entertained by the sight and sounds of eagles flying in search of their next meal, or a bull moose in hot pursuit of a cow. Your comfortably appointed historic log cabin with its own lake facing verandah provides a private spot to contemplate the day’s activities or unwind with a beverage and cigar. The Roosevelt Dining Room and its great room will serve as the headquarters during your stay. You will enjoy an early morning send-off breakfast, home cooked lunches, dinner and end of the day refreshments in comfort.

Equipment used during your hunt. Hunting is conducted out of premium ground blinds, ladder stands, climbing stands and hang-on stands. Optional blind heaters can be available upon request. We utilize and have for use Garmin Rhino’s. We have strategic track lines and way points for your use to be able to follow through the woods while still hunting or tracking. Use the bird’s eye, aerial imagery to understand what the forest type looks like and where you are and where you’re going.
