Montana Outfitters is offering high quality elk hunts, fly fishing and summer vacation adventures on the well known Galt Ranch. We will be hunting roughly 20,000 acres of some of the best prime elk habitat that the area has to offer. Rock Creek and the Smith River offer some of the best fly fishing the area has to offer. Combine fishing, horseback rides and the lodge for an awesome summer vacation adventure or corporate retreat.

Private Land Low Fence Elk Hunting Ranch in Montana

The Walker Camp is roughly 45 miles northwest of White Sulphur Springs Montana in the Big Belt Mountains.

This is not a high fence hunt but the area is behind locked gates which provides a very good hunting opportunity. There will be a professional licensed guide provided for every 2 hunters. We will be hunting with the use of horses and mules which will allow you access that a 4 wheeler or pickup cannot get to.

The Galt Ranch is a well known Montana cattle ranch, which is home to the native Rocky Mountain Elk. We are not dependent on the elk migration or cold winter storms to bring the elk here, They frequent different areas of the ranch and neighboring ranches. The ranch is fairly rugged with high open parks and ridges. The stock will allow us to get to most areas but you will need to be prepared and in good physical shape to be able to put the final sneak on that big bull. We cannot guarantee you an elk, but we will do our best to put forth 100% to get you on the elk.

We will be staying at the Walker Camp on Rock Creek which is a tributary to the Smith River and is well known for some high quality fly fishing. The lodge is very nice, comfortable and complete with a full open kitchen, large dining area and living area. Hunters will have their own rooms and shared bathrooms. This is a great camp with full amenities including phone and WiFi.

General Season Elk Hunts

• Hunt 1: November 9-November 13
• Hunt 2: November 16-November 20
• Hunt 3: November  23- November 27
• 2 on 1 guided hunt $8,000.00 per person
• Whitetail or Mule Deer $2500.00 trophy fee
• Black Bear $1500.00 trophy fee
• 50% Deposit due at booking
• 50% balance due on or before July 1
• March 15th deadline for non resident licenses.
• Hunt prices do not include Montana hunting license.

All hunts are 5 full days of hunting. You will enjoy the vast amount of hunting country the ranch has offer throughout the week. The ranch does not allow public hunting or access. Our crew and the ranch crew are the only exceptions.

The  The lodge is very nice, comfortable and complete with a full open kitchen, large dining area and living area. Guests will be staying in rooms with 2 beds per room and shared bathrooms.
