About Glendeer Trophy Hunting Outfitters

Glendeer Guides was established in 2000, the name derives from the family working farm in Canterbury, South Island New Zealand.

Your host and head guide P.G.L McLauchlan and wife Jude own and operate this family run business.  Jude was an award-winning travel consultant thus adding a welcoming factor in piecing together the finer details of the Trophy hunt, travel needs and logistics for our inbound guest.  Guiding clients is a big part of our lives, trophy hunting February through to July and then fly-fishing  Guiding for over-sized Brown and Rainbow trout in clear mountain streams  October through to February/March, in search of Red Stag, Bull Tahr, Fallow Bucks, Chamois and Elk along with Brown and Rainbow trout this is our business this is our era of expertise.

We cater to all levels of fitness and ability, hunting can start not far from the lodge as we head into the smaller valley draws or we can take a side by side up through the hunting grounds to the outer boundaries in search of game, good access tracks are located throughout our hunting preserve, spot walk and stalk trophy hunting at its best.

Arrival into New Zealand

Arrival point to New Zealand is Christchurch International Airport located in the South Island of NZ. Pick up, meet and greet from arrival point/accommodation and transfer to guiding base lodge, Two hours’ drive approx. South West of Christchurch International Airport.
