Alberta, Canada Black Bear Hunting Outfitters

100% Success Rate on Fully-Guided Spring and Fall Black Bear Hunts in Alberta

Our bear hunting area is about 500,000 acres. I own 90% of the permits, therefore I hold the key to managing the black bear hunting in this area. The black bears in our area average 300+ pounds, with some pushing up to 500 pounds. We have 50% color-phase bears with 25% harvested being colored phased bears over 6 foot and 25% of the black bears harvested are over 7ft with 20″ plus skulls.

Harvesting a trophy bear takes careful placement of stands and baits to outsmart the trophy bears we want. Proper baiting, along with limiting the number of black bear hunts every year, and the high number of bears in our area, our hunters enjoy a 100% shot opportunity.  Shooting distances from stands at our bait sites are from 20-25 yds for bow hunters and rifle hunters from 50-100 yards.  If you are looking for a high success Canada bear hunt, this is it. For over 22 years, we’ve put the time, experience and dedication into the hunt to ensure you have the best bear hunt possible.

Alberta Moose Hunting Trips

Fully-Guided Moose Rut Hunts in Alberta in October and November

Our hunting area is about 500,000 acres of farm land, fringe, and the deep woods. The area we hunt makes this a relatively easy hunt and not physically challenging. However, the bigger bulls favor areas with the heavier cover.  Hunting the forest edge, deep woods and open logged areas you will have a better chance at seeing a 40+ inch moose.

Moose rut hunt for rifle and archery hunters.

The moose are very active this time of year and respond very well to cow calls. The larger bulls usually taken on this hunt average 40 inches. We take a minimum number of hunters per season during this time to keep success rates very high. Our rut moose hunt can also be combined with our fall black bear hunts. for rifle and bow hunters.

November post-rut moose hunts

This hunt is for rifle hunters only, and is a great time to hunt Alberta moose. After the rut is over the bulls are more social, often seen in bachelor groups. Moose don’t move very much this time of year as they are feeding to replenishing body fat lost during the rut period. November moose hunt can be combined with a whitetail deer rut hunt where you will hunt these trophies in the forest edge and farmland.

We have provided whitetail and mule deer bow hunts for over 23 years

Most hunters have opportunities at 150″ whitetail bucks and 170″ mule deer bucks. You have a great chance at harvesting a real trophy if you are patient. If you are looking for an exciting archery mule deer & whitetail bow hunt, North Star Outfitting is the place to hunt.

We understand that archery hunting requires a different approach than conventional rifle hunts. We hunt mule deer in the morning and whitetail deer only in the afternoons. We live and hunt in this area, so I know and understand the behaviors and patterns of mule deer and whitetail deer. It doesn’t pay to risk getting caught going in the morning to hunt whitetails when you don’t know where they are.

Alberta Mule Deer Bow Hunting Trips

In the morning, we spot and stalk mule deer. Mule deer are usually found in bachelor groups at sunrise. We usually drive county roads or trails looking for mule deer feeding in the morning. Once we find a good group we will get into a good position and watch and wait for a good shot on a trophy buck. This style of hunting has been very exciting and successful.

Afternoon Whitetail Deer Bow Hunts

Since we hunt in an agricultural area, afternoon bow hunting works the best. Early afternoon, whitetails wander out to agricultural fields and food plots to feed. Whitetail are pretty predictable in the early season and often travel in bachelor groups from bedding areas to feeding areas. We set up our stands alongside alfalfa, pea, barley and wheat fields because they are feeding with no pressure.

Early Season Archery Deer Bow Hunts

The early season hunt is all about hunting food sources. The deer feed and bed to put on weight and save energy getting ready for the rut to ramp up. It’s important to know preferred foods are available and when deer seek them out. More mature deer tend to hit food sources later than younger deer so you need to be patient and wait for the trophy deer to come in to feed.

We spend a lot of time scouting and utilize trail cameras to determine trophy bucks early season patterns. We have multiple trail cameras set up to watch times they feed and bed, travel patterns and behavior characteristics. Tracking this movement will give hunters a great chance for a harvest a trophy buck
