I grew up guiding on this ranch and my family goes back over 100 years in West Texas. We have multiple ranches in 5 counties, which helps us place hunters where we are seeing the most activity. Our main ranch is 3,000 acres, low fence with a year round feeding and management program. Our biggest buck to date was a 183 B&C. Our trophy hunts are 3 days, all meals and lodging and is semi guided. We have all new, comfortable blinds and we hunt over feeders placed within 100 yards. The cost is $2,950 and there are no trophy or hidden fees, ever!

Texas Quail Hunting
We offer fully guided quail hunting on over 3,000 acres in Kent County. Our birds are 100% Native Bobwhite, no pen raised birds ever! A one day hunt that includes all meals, lodging and guiding. We have over 15 well trained English Pointers and German Short-hairs in our kennels to assist in your hunt. This is truly a world class quail hunt!
The cost is $450 a day, and that includes all meals, lodging and guiding. In addition as with all of our hunts you will have opportunities to shoot varmints and predators including coyote, fox, bobcat, badger and mountain lion.
Spring Turkey
We offer spring turkey hunts when the gobbling action is at its peak. Our turkey hunts include two and a half days of hunting and two turkeys. The cost is $900, includes lodging and is semi-guided. This hunt, as with all of our hunts, includes opportunities to shoot varmints and predators including coyote, fox, bobcat, badger, and mountain lion.

We are located halfway between Abilene and Lubbock in Kent county. We are a family operated, veteran-owned hunting and cattle company. We have been in the cattle and hunting business for 27 years. Shawn McDonald, the owner, is an Army veteran with the 82nd Airborne Division and a life-long hunter who is proud to call Abilene home. He has bow hunted on three of the 7 continents, from Alaska to South Africa, Europe Canada and Mexico. His family roots go back over 100 years in West Texas.
Hog Hunting in West Texas
Our hog hunts are scheduled for three days and include three (3) hogs of any size. They are conducted out of stands over feeders, driving and spot and stalk. Our hog hunts are offered year round. In West Texas, we have the largest population of hogs in the United States. We also have a large population of Russian hogs that were released in the 1940’s straight from the former USSR, and have thrived. We actually have more hogs than people in the five counties we hunt! Also included in this hunt as with all of our hunts is opportunities to shoot varmints and predators including coyote, fox, bobcat, badger and mountain lion. No Hunting license is required for hog hunts (both residents or non residents)!
Salt Fork Hunting Ranch – Ballinger
Located in Runnels county, Texas, fifteen minutes east of Ballinger, Texas. Our ranch covers approximately 1,000 acres of low fenced in hunting area. The Ballinger Bunkhouse at Salt Fork Hunting Ranch is a brand new cabin that sleeps 6-9 people. The cabin offers an open floor plan with spectacular views of the ranch. It features a variety of amenities including heat and air conditioner, fridge, cook stove and cooking utensils, bathroom with shower, and a flat screen TV. The covered porch with outside seating, grill, and firepit.

We have a wide variety of models, brands and calibers to choose from. From an AR-15 (5.56) with red dot sights to a Remington 700 in .270 and 25-06 calibers, our guns are already sighted in and ready to hunt!
