Green Lake Outfitters owned and operated by Trevor and Ian Vause. Trevor has over thirty years of experience as a big game hunting outfitter and guide in Saskatchewan. Ian has been a Whitetail deer and Black Bear hunting guide since 2012. All our hunting guides have years of hunting and fishing experience in Canada and love the outdoors.
We take pride in the fact that many of our clients are repeat or word of mouth, some have been hunting with us since day one.
Almost all deer hunting is done from ground blinds, they will make your hunt a little more comfortable by keeping you out of the weather. We do use a couple of ladder stands in places where ground blinds just don’t work. Small propane heaters can be used in the ground blinds.
All of our fully guided whitetail deer hunts are six days, starting on a Monday and ending on Saturday.
All deer hunters must wear a blaze orange, white, scarlet red, or safety vest top, and a blaze orange hat.
All bear hunting is done from ladder or lock-on stands. The lock-on stands are the arm chair type and are very comfortable. All bear hunting is done in the afternoon. Most bear hunters spend the morning relaxing or fishing in the nearby river or lake.
All bear hunters using a rifle must dress the same as deer hunters.
Bear hunters using a bow can be fully dressed in camo.
Bear hunts are of a six-day duration Monday through Saturday.
Camp is situated in an old growth forest of spruce, fir and poplar that is only a stone’s throw from a lake that has Northern Pike.
Camp consists of three log cabins, the main cabin has eating facilities, and shower facilities and accommodates the cook and guides, there is a six bunk, and a two bunk cabin for accommodations for clients. All cabins are heated by wood heaters, all cabins have a power source supplied by generator.
Travel to the camp is by car from Saskatoon.
We will do everything possible to make your hunt a successful and memorable one. We take lots of photos, some will be sent to you along with our end-of-year newsletter.
We cape and prepare your trophy ready for you to take home, or we have a taxidermy service available for those who wish to use it.
I and a friend hunted Green Lake Outfitters for whitetail for the first time in November of 2010 and both of us connected on great bucks the 4th day of our hunt, Thanksgiving Day (US). We each shot heavy mainframe 5x5s with some extra points and character scoring 154 and 175 B&C, see the last two photos in the website gallery. Seven of us went back the next spring for black bear and some good fishing. For that hunt, I had a top-notch guide that lives in that area and grew up in the bush. Both of these hunts were all I had hoped for and anticipated. Trevor Vause runs a well organized camp and is a great cook, outfitter and guide. The most important thing: he works super hard to produce for his hunters. I’ll be back soon, joined by a few others who have a passion for taking big deer or black bear.

I’ve made three trips to Green Lake Outfitters with Trevor Vause and each trip was better than the last. Tagged game on every trip so far. I’m booked for my fourth trip in a row in November. The price cant be beat, and you see quality game every day in the field. I don’t think these deer have ever seen people up here. The camp is way out in the bush. No phone, internet or Jacuzzi. Just excellent hunting and good conversations with the guys in camp at the end of the day. You’ll enjoy a hot, home cooked meal each morning and every evening after a day of hunting. I think I gained a couple pounds during the week. Book a hunt with Trevor of Green Lake Outfitters and it wont be your last.
