South Africa Hunting Farm in East Cape

Hunt the Great Karoo, Valley Bushveld and the Assegai Conservancy in South Africa

East Cape Bushveld Hunting is a partnered outfit facility with over 20 years of combined hunting experience. We are the first generation of this hunting outfitting and based in the malaria free Eastern Cape in the heart of the Valley bushveld.

Our partnership is based on a shared approach and philosophy of ethical fair chase hunting and sensible game management. We are both qualified and licensed Professional Hunters and are diploma holders in Game Farm Management from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. We have combined our passion for hunting and the outdoor life in a business that offers ‘the great African hunting experience’ that our clients will never forget. Great relationships take priority at ECBHunting. Our staff and we are like family and will make your experience with us the reality of your African safari dreams. Join us for your first or tenth African Safari.

On our twelve different concessions, totaling more than 30,000 hectares (76,000 acres) and growing rapidly, contain a wide range of game species and trophy animals. The several concessions allow us to match the various types of terrain (bio types), habitat, and vegetation to the animals and the needs of our clients. The very dense Valley Bushveld is where the great Kudu (Grey Ghost) roam, the secretive Bushbuck prefers to stay along his stream bed, and blesbuck and zebra gather in more open areas. Each area has a mixture of terrains to offer an abundance of game animals. ECBHunting takes you to see other different but nearby regions of the Eastern Cape Province on your search for the best quality trophy animals.

Our base camp is situated an exciting game viewing two hour drive on modern highways from the airport in Port Elizabeth (where we meet and pick you up). There are game parks and reserves like the famous Shamwari Private Game Reserve along the drive so you will see plenty of game even before arrival. Our clients see more wild animals on their way to our base camp than in any Zoo. The base camp lodging is comfortable safari style indoor accommodations but more rustic camping is available when the client prefers. There are alternate activities on Sunday as we do not hunt on the Lord’s Day.

ECBHunting is not restricted to any hunting season, but best results are obtained from February through November. The Eastern Cape offers some great conditions for hunting during these months, as well as, remarkable tourist attractions. This is great for Sunday activities and for any non-hunting company. Remember our seasons are opposite those in the northern hemisphere. Join us for warn sunny weather during your long dark months, returning tanned and rested.

Canariesfontein in the Heart of Karoo

This unique ranch with a rich history in the heart of the Karoo.

Currently owned by Louis and Aldone Müller, Canariesfontein has wildlife and birdlife in abundance. The natural bushman paintings and rock formations is evidence that this area was farmed hundreds of years ago by both the KhoiSan and the very first Voortrekkers.

The house has been refurnished to accommodate hunters and will certainly give you the “homely” feeling. In addition, one of the outbuildings has been upgraded and is now used as the ‘braai’ area. This is where food can be prepared on open fires while hunters share their experiences from the past day’s hunting activities

Canariesfontein, as well as numerous other neighboring farms, includes large mountains and rocky hills and is therefore a 4×4 enthusiast’s paradise. The fantastic views and quietness also makes it a great place for mountain bikers and hikers.

If you love the outdoors and are looking for the ultimate Karoo hunting experience, Canariesfontein will blow your mind and leave you breathless for months to come!
