Savé Valley Conservancy

Plains Game, Big Game, Dangerous Game Hunting Safaris in Zimbabwe

The Savé Valley Conservancy is just under 1 million acres in size with wide diversity of habitats including open acacia woodland, mopane woodland, thick riverine vegetation and broken granite outcrops. It is reported to be the largest private wildlife area in the world and is renowned for its Big 4 hunting as well as a huge variety and abundance of plains game.

There are both Black and White Rhino, and both Lions and leopards are plentiful with very high success rates. This is our best elephant area with elephant tusks averaging over 50 lbs a side.  Elephant bull hunting here is best between mid-March and mid-May whilst the cats are best early May through mid-August.  The Savé Valley also has high densities of buffalo and plains game so these safaris are very successful here.

Zimbabwe Dangerous Game Safari Hunting Trips

Hunt Elephants, Lions, Leopards and Buffalo in Zimbabwe North West, in the Sengwa Research Area in the Gokwe District

Elephant trophies average between 30 and 35 pounds. Tuskless cows are also plentiful and these safaris are close to 100% successful. The best times for hunting the bulls are early in March through May and late in September and October. Tuskless cows are better during the drier months of June through October.

Lions and Leopard Hunts in Zimbabwe

Leopards and Lions are best hunted during the cool months of May through August. All cat hunting here is done during daylight hours and is therefore a great opportunity for the hunting purists who prefer not to use artificial light.

Zimbabwe Buffalo Trophy Hunts

Buffalo are plentiful and are best during the drier months of June through October.
