Free-Range Dangerous Game Hunting Outfitters in Zimbabwe

Trophy Hunting Safaris in Zimbabwe for Cape Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, as well as non- Trophy Hunts for Elephant

BUFFALO HUNTING – BVC Zimbabwe has a very healthy buffalo population in excess of 6,000 head and increasing annually. We are taking 120 bulls a year with about 40% of these being non-trophy bulls of 35” spread or less. Every year we take a large number of bulls in excess of 40” and these hunts usually run at 100% success rate. On one of my hunts during September we looked at over a 100 dagga boys in 9 days! We do not hunt any cows.

LION HUNTING – BVC Zimbabwe offers the very best of wild lion hunting in Africa, with every trophy taken being of MGM quality. We currently hunt 13 male lion  a year and again success running pretty much at 100%. Please note these hunts are usually sold out a few years in advance due to the incredible and unbeatable success rate.

Although we have an over-population of lions (largest population in the country and second highest density, after Serengeti) we are presently not hunting any females – due to the present controversial issues surrounding lion hunting.

LEOPARD HUNTING – BVC Zimbabwe has very high population of leopards and years of research show that our male to female ratio is 2 females to 1 male throughout the area. We hunt 20 males each season and our success rate on large toms is probably the highest in Africa. Almost each year we win the prize for the largest leopard shot in the country. Again, these hunts are usually booked out a few years ahead.

ELEPHANT HUNTING– In BVC Zimbabwe, we only hunt non trophy bulls of around 25 pounds of ivory per side. These hunts are very inexpensive and offers one all the excitement experienced with hunting these giants and the trophy is exportable in terms of CITES regulations.

RHINO HUNTING – We have a very healthy population of both species, black and white but allow NO hunting of these prehistoric beasts. It is always a thrill seeing them in the wilds and almost every day you will get to see them in their natural environment.

Hunting Outfitters in the Bubye Valley Conservancy

BVC Zimbabwe is home to over 700 Elephant, 7,000 Buffalo, 500 Lions, 220 Black Rhino and thousands of head of plains game

The Bubye Valley Conservancy (BVC) is a pristine lowveld wildlife area of almost 1 million acres situated in the south of Zimbabwe and is the home to over 100,000 mammals including 700 Elephant, 7,000 Buffalo, 500 Lions, 220 Black Rhino and thousands of head of plains game.  This area has an incredible array of over 35 animal species and apart from elephant offers the very finest of both dangerous and plains game, free range, hunting found anywhere on the African continent.

It is extremely rare to have such a diverse list of different species all found in one area. Some species are found in their thousands, hence the area is affectionately known as the Serengeti of Zimbabwe. The periphery of the total concession is fenced, electrified, due to government regulations pertaining to some of the dangerous game. There are no internal fences and the whole area falls under one umbrella, therefore no problems with boundaries affecting game movement or hunting. The BVC remains as one of the largest concessions found anywhere in Africa.

Generally the area is quite flat with granite kopjies (hills) dispersed in the north. The Bubye River flows through the middle of the area. There are open plains in the south which offer excellent bird shooting too for guinea fowl, francolin, sand grouse and doves and most of the bush is fairly open woodlands throughout. Some large dams in the north offer excellent fishing for both bass and bream (tilapia.) Waterholes are dispersed evenly all over the area.
